The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) is a global leader in the fight against cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world, provides free information and support services, and is the voice for all blood cancer patients seeking access to quality, affordable, coordinated care.

In 2018 Keith was named Man of the Year in LLS’ Annual Man & Woman of the Year Campaign. This is a philanthropic competition to support blood cancer research among a group of motivated and dedicated individuals in communities across the United States. Candidates form powerful fundraising teams and compete in honor of two local children who are blood cancer survivors. The man and woman who have raised the most funds during the ten-week campaign are awarded the prestigious title of Man or Woman of the Year in their community.

The Periwinkle Foundation

The Periwinkle Foundation develops and provides programs that positively change the lives of children, young adults and families who are challenged by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and are cared for at Texas Children's Hospital. As the survival rate grows, so does the need for long-term support and programs. What started as a simple camp for children with cancer, uncovered a need for camps for teenagers, families and long-term survivors, as well as a robust Arts and Creative Writing Program.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s mission is to change the lives of children with cancer through funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families, and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer. Northwestern Mutual is committed to accelerating the search for a cure to childhood cancer while supporting families undergoing treatment and survivors suffering from late effects.

To date, we have funded more than 240,000 hours of research through our exclusive partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. We are proud to say there are children who are cancer free today because of this funding. Northwestern Mutual recognizes that supporting kids with cancer does not end when treatment ends. That is why we fund research to help create better outcomes for kids with cancer, sponsor symposiums focused on how best to support childhood cancer survivors and recognize leaders in the childhood cancer survivor field.

Beads of Courage

Beads of Courage’s mission is to provide innovative Arts-in-Medicine programs for children coping with serious illness, their families and the clinicians who care for them.

Every Beads of Courage® program integrates the use of beads, the earliest art form known to humans, as visible, tangible symbols of human experiences that need and deserve to be expressed. Every time a bead is given courage is honored, suffering is alleviated, resilience is strengthened, and the experience of human caring is affirmed.
